Warminster, Pa. (December, 2014) ATR Systems, a leader of time and attendance software and hardware in the Greater Philadelphia area, announced today that it has acquired Glenside, Pa.-based F & E Time Systems, broadening ATR Systems’ client base.
“This is an exciting time for ATR Systems,” said the company’s President Michael Hoover. “We will be off to a great start in 2015 after this breakout year, which included adding the ancillary services of HR, applicant tracking, leave management and Affordable Care Act compliance monitoring to our workforce management software. We also increased our cloud-based revenues by 44 percent , upgraded many of our existing clients from our small-business to our mid-market platform and added several larger clients.”
In 2013, ATR Systems celebrated its 40th anniversary. Specializing in servicing small-to-midsize manufacturing, health care, hospitality, nonprofit and municipal companies and organizations, ATR Systems has been a partner of Kronos SaaShr, Inc., a leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) workforce management solutions, since 2007. Helping several companies streamline their time and attendance processes, ATR Systems, based in Warminster, is also a member of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia.
A second-generation family business, F & E Time Systems was started in 1963. Originally based in Philadelphia, F & E worked with companies in need of time stamps and manual time clocks. As the industry advanced its technology, so did F & E, saving its clients thousands of dollars.
“ATR Systems is locally based, factory trained and certified with all the vendors we currently work with, and has a long history of serving the community and supporting time and attendance systems in the region,” said F & E President Sam Margolin. The transaction was made on Nov. 21, 2014.
“This acquisition gives us a stronger foothold in the region of time and attendance users,” Hoover said. “This move allows us to extend our expertise of efficiently tracking employees to several charter schools, agricultural sites and healthcare companies.”
In 2014, ATR Systems added several larger clients, including Allentown, Pennsylvania–based Valley Youth House, a nonprofit outreach program for at-risk youth; Tulsa, Oklahoma-based Kruse PEO, Inc., a human resources and payroll company; and Warminster, Pennsylvania-based Provident Marketing, Inc., a staffing company that provides warehousing, fulfillment, and drop shipping services. ATR helped the three organizations save paper by streamlining their time and attendance processes. For example, at Valley Youth, employees in multiple locations now submit their time sheets electronically.
Several local companies upgraded from ATR System’s small-business platform to its mid-sized software suite. This allowed them to add the functions of dynamic scheduling, benefit accruals tracking, work flow, exception tracking and job costing.
Hoover, who is the president of the Independent Time and Labor Management Association (ITLMA), a national trade association, has also been involved in developing a national certification for time and labor management professionals.
